It started with Emile Heskey?s spearheading of the England attack, and, during the weekend, it ended with the former Leicester City and Liverpool striker?s blunt rejection of a return to the international scaffolding. Gerard Houllier may have done something to rejuvenate the big man in the last couple of weeks, but, perhaps cleverly, Heskey?s decision to remain in the wilderness is a sequestered sign that Fabio Capello?s enigma, along with the potential wrath of Wembley, is something the Aston Villa forward could do well without.
